It went down in Dakar, Senegal from January 12 to January 15, 2023, which was a bit later than planned, but it delivered!

This was a big deal because it was the first time that AFRIMA was happening in a French-speaking country.

What's the Lowdown on AFRIMA 2022?

AFRIMA is like the Oscars for African tunes, right?

It's all approximately celebrating and supporting the amazing work that goes on in the African music scene.

The 2022 theme was "This Is Africa," and boy, did it live up to the hype!

It's where music peeps from across Africa and the diaspora get together to cheer on the folks who make our ears happy.

This year's AFRIMA was extra special because it was held in the vibrant city of Dakar.

The local government and authorities were totally on board, making sure everything went off without a hitch.

And oh man, the performances! Some glitzy red carpet-moments and shows had us all jumping out of our seats!
