Who's Adut Akech Bior?



Adut Akech is a South Sudanese Australian supermodel, who collaborates with top fashion brands like Valentino, Versace, Dior, Prada, and Chanel. 

She was born on December 25, 1999, in South Sudan. Due to conflict, her family fled to Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, where she spent part of her childhood. 

At the age of 7, she and her family relocated to Adelaide, Australia, as refugees.

Adut has won multiple awards, including Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. 

She is also an advocate for refugees and actively supports initiatives to help displaced communities.  

She has also appeared in major Vogue editions, including Vogue Australia, Vogue Italia, and Vogue Paris, and has been the face of campaigns for luxury brands like Estée Lauder, BOSS, and Zara., er modeling journey began when she was scouted as a teenager. 

She signed with Chadwick Models in Australia and later made her international debut at Saint Laurent's 2017 show.

Adut Akech won several awards, in 2019 Model of the Year, Time 100 Next List.

In 2021 Model of the Year again, and in 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30.

Adut is a strong advocate for refugee rights and diversity in the modeling industry. 

She uses her platform to highlight the struggles of displaced communities and works with organizations that support refugees.

Also, she's known for her close friendships with fellow models like Naomi Campbell and has been a trailblazer for African models in high fashion. 

Embraces her South Sudanese heritage and often speaks about the importance of staying true to her roots.
